Module 1: Child Development
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
  • Understand the key concepts related to child development, including the key domains of child development.
  • Recognise the different ages and stages of child development.
  • Identify potential impacts of family violence on healthy child development.
Module 2: Attachment
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
  • Understand key concepts related to attachment
  • Understand different attachment styles and internal working models
  • Recognise the impact of family violence on attachment and the parent/carer-child bond
  • Identify strategies to support attachment and the parent/carer-child bond
Module 3: Trauma
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
  • Identify different types of trauma.
  • Understand key concepts including trauma as a survival response, the Window of Tolerance, and trauma and the brain.
  • Recognise the impacts of trauma on infants, children and young people.
  • Identify strategies for supporting recovery from trauma.
